What’s your excuse?

I was first inspired to sign up for my first triathlon after seeing a 70 year old nun compete in an Ironman triathlon. “If she can do it, what’s your excuse?” With the help of a coworker that was into the sport to help me train, I finished my first Olympic distance tri. With a surfing wetsuit and mountain bike, I swam, biked and ran the cold November waters and weather of the Bay Area. I barely knew what I was doing, but loved the challenge.

Fast forward a few years and I was pulling myself out of a health slump. Years of corporate work and life took its toll and the weight piled on. “You can either look like a lineman or look like a linebacker.” I opted for linebacker. I was also dealing the loss of a good friend and signed up for a full marathon to run in her honor. “If she could deal with years of treatments and rehab, what’s your excuse?” The difficulty of training and actually running the race are nothing in comparison. I finished my first marathon and a spark lit in me. Shortly later, I signed up for another marathon. And then a 5k. And another race. The races kept piling on. I found again this love of training and the challenge of racing.

Fast forward again, still committed to training, fitness and racing, I decided to quit the corporate world and opted to pursue a career in personal training & coaching. I haven’t looked back since. My path came into focus and I found myself. I am more passionate for this than any other career I’ve had! Out of this, Endurance Fitness Performance was born. Melding over a decade of experience of training and competing in everything from the mile to the marathon; obstacle course races and triathlons along with a decade of coaching hundreds of people to move better; recover from injuries and develop their own love of fitness, the goal is to have you perform your best, whether in everyday life or on race day.
